On 2017 International Day of the Girl, 18-year-old Alda from Indonesia took over as secretary-general of the OECD for a day. A youth activist for Plan International, Alda also found time to write a blog about what life is like for girls in her country. She says that teen pregnancy, child marriage and gender discrimination are the everyday reality for too many girls. Statistics show that more women than men do not know how to read or write.
